The Scented Market started with a natural soy wax candle out of the founder’s need for a product with a clean burn, free of lead, phthalates and parabens. Today, Kristy Miller has developed an entire personal care and home fragrance collection featuring candles, bath salts, bath bombs, hand sanitizer, moisturizers and rooms sprays, that are clean and in-line with her mandate of “How can I make it healthier.”
The Scented Market started in Guelph, Ontario and just celebrated its third year in business this year. Having started online, Miller decided to open a retail shop in September 2020 in Guelph, during a global pandemic, and the risk paid off. The company is thriving both online and in-store.
The Scented Market is indeed a family affair. With a staff of 10, Miller also gets help from her husband “Wax Man” and children, which she posts about regularly on Instagram (@TheScentedMarket).
Kristy Miller is no stranger to the entrepreneur life, as she and her staff handcraft all the scents and self-care/ home-care products sold at The Scented Market. This female Canadian entrepreneur is definitely one to watch!
